Threshold’s volunteer-run committees, the Sustainable Planet Committee and Justice & Democracy Committee, seek to fund cutting-edge organizations, marginalized populations, and projects not often supported by mainstream philanthropic sources.
These committees are responsible for giving away the contribution pool that is raised annually. Committee work is a dynamic peer group effort that educates donors and builds important alliances in the broader social change movement.
Submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) Application
Due to an overwhelming number of Letter of Inquiries (LOIs) received last year during Threshold’s open call for LOIs, Threshold Foundation’s next regular grantmaking cycle for 2010-2011 will be invitation-only. Invitations to submit an LOI for the 2010-2011 grantmaking cycle will be sent directly to organizations from the Threshold office in early October. The regular open LOI submission process will be re-assessed during this year for future grantmaking cycles.
